The persuasive speech I chose was Simon Sinek's How great leaders inspire action

Here's the link: http://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action.html

Now talking about the methods that the speaker used.I think the main methods are, first, repeat his main idea over and over.Second,he gave loads of examples, the successful ones, the failure ones. Many many examples in every aspects. Truly enough for him to support his ideology.

“People don't buy what you do;they buy why you do it."
I can even recite it easily now. Why? Because I' ve heard about this sentence through the whole speech quite times. Why he did this? Because that's the main idea the speaker wanted us to know, to understand. As we all know people repeat things in order to remember them better. In the same way, the more times he said that, the sentence will stick in our minds more. There's an ancient saying: "The meaning of the book will become clear if you read it hundreds of times." Also, this sentence's meaning will become clear after we remembering it, listening to it hundreds times as well. It's a really good method to help people understand and know what the topic the speaker is talking about.
He also used a diagram“ Why How What",  some scientific research in biology, and also some specific statistics about majesty to not only support his opinion, but also directly explain his main opinion.

Mentioned about the examples before. Besides the explanation about the theory, the other part of the speech was filled up with lots of specific examples. When we are argumentative composition, we usually use examples to sustain our ideology. This method is also conductive for a persuasive speech. The examples which the speaker used are: the success of Apple, the Wright Brothers, and Martin Luther King;  the failure of Tivo, and another unknown people who also attempted to make an aeroplane as the Wright Brothers did.
The speaker used these examples to compare. The difference between that unknown people's ambition and the Wright Brothers' is that the motivation of that people was to gain money, gain fame but the Wright Brothers just wanted to make their dream which implanted in their mind since their childhood. Compared Apple with Tivo, basicly, it was their way about how to advert their products' difference.Apple told everyone WHY they invented iPhone, iPod, and so on. What they did was just for prove their ideas. But Tivo just told people what they made. The consequence is that Apple succeed, Tivo is still struggling.
From those differences, we can easily find out that “People don't buy what you do;they buy why you do it." is universal truth.

In brief, I think this persuasive speech really let me agree with the speaker's idea. That's really a model to p

How do you think you did with your TED Talk? How could you improve it?

I think I did ok with my TED Talk. The pronunciation is the best part of my TED Talk. My intonation is not bad as well.
To improve my performance, according to Mr. Manno's suggestions, the PPT is a big problem I need to solve first.
Because of my PPT is to complicated, and the animations of the PPT are really slow,(actually during the presentation, the PPT was driving me crazy!!) the audiences are always focus on the PPT instead of me-the speaker. Consequently, I cannot have good eyes contact with the audiences, and also I needed to check up the PPT, so I was facing the PPT almost all the time. The PPT is not the most important part, but I am!!

In order to make the audiences focus on me, I have to make my PPT simpler and easier to read. The only thing I need to put it on my PPT is the main keyword of each part I'm going to talk about.

If I make that, I can have more eyes contact with my audience. And I can also show my body language, hand gestures also my movement. If they can see that, they can give me more suggestions to help me to improve.

Also according to Mr. Manno's suggestion, I need to improve my intonation as well. I speak too fast so that the audiences can not catch each word I said. That's hard for them to understand my topic. I need to try to speak slowly and balance. Also to use hand gestures to emphasize the important aspect of the topic can make my speech even better.

In brief, the most important parts I need to improve are the PPT and my intonation.

I would like to choose Luxun for a TED talk.

Every Chinese must know who Luxun is.I knew him since I was in primary school. It seems people talk about Luxun really often.

Luxun was a thinker, litterateur and revolutionary. In Chinese History Class,my teacher told me that Luxun made a really great affect to the history. He was changing the history by his pen.For this point, his truly great. In the past, people used to use ancient Chinese to write. But Luxun was the first person to write passage  with modern Chinese. He leaded a revolution called the Vernacular Revolution(I really cannot find the right translation.)

This revolution made us now writing passage in a whole new different way from the old one.It changed the historical trend of Chinese literature.

In Chinese Class,we can find Luxun's master piece in our text book. Before I went to the American High School,I have seen 3 of them.We always studied those for almost a week.So you can see how important they are.And actually, those are really magnificent. They show the deep side of the many aspects of the society of that period of time.(Well, maybe they also show what right now the society looks like as well.)

Luxun really cared about the society, the country.Like what people said,Luxun's death was a huge lost of the country.
In my eyes,Luxun was a soldier fight with the devils with his pen.He used his pen to make the country become better. And his master piece is still going to influence the country in a long period of time in the future.

Hats off to the great master-Luxun!

The lecture I choose is from TED,Gray Greenberg. It's about the nano&mirco world. To be honest, that's really cool! Some of those insects are a little bit disgusting though.

Here's the link:http://v.163.com/movie/2013/4/8/R/M92TFGCQ1_M92TFNF8R.html

In the lecture, there are many pictures showing on the screen so it's not very often to see the professor. But the professor's hand gestures which I can see are proper. He emphasize some words which are able to let us understand the nano&mirco world easily.

He doesn't move much.Because he needs to control the screen. Then I wouldn't do the judgement. But he stands straight and looks full of confidence. That's a good point.

Then the eye contact.According to the video,he's not looking at the camera.Besides he sometimes looking at the screen to talk about it,he does move his eyes back and forth to have eye contact with the audience and it is with a proper speed.

The last thing is about the intonation.I don't think his intonation is good.It more like monotonous.Especially when he is talking about William Blake's saying'To see a world in a grain of sands,And a heaven in a wild flower.Holy infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.',he can put more emotion in it to emphasize it.In other parts of the lecture he can stress some words to tell people which words are the main thing through this whole lecture.
